Flow

Posted by felderfans on May 11, 2008

At the end of the 60’s while living in upstate New York, Don and three other musicians (formerly known in Florida as Gingerbread) formed a band called Flow. The group was offered a record contract by legendary jazz producer Creed Taylor, whose early production career paralleled the development of the bossa nova sound (Girl From Ipenema) during the early sixties. He eventually founded his own record label in 1968. In fact, according to Taylor, Flow had the distinction of having had the first standalone title produced by the new CTI label. This, and perhaps owing to Don’s notoriety, makes an original copy of the disc a valuable rarity among vintage record collectors.

The album was recorded in New Jersey in December 1969 and January 1970. Don has a writing credit on the title No Lack of Room, which was also a B side of one of three singles issued.
