As fate would have it, Don turned down an offer from Graham Nash to join his band for an upcoming Crosby and Nash 1974 summer tour, choosing to hook up with the Eagles and launch a 27-year-long career with them. Through his new connections with the band and it’s production team, Don wound up supporting singer/songwriter Michael Dinner with his guitar work on the LP The Great Pretender released that same year.
