Stranger in Town

Having sold records in excess of 50 million over a nearly 40 year career, Detroit-born Bob Seger is considered by many to be the catalyst of American working-class rock and roll. Backed by his five-piece Silver Bullet Band, he released his Stranger in Town LP in 1978. The album spawned four top charting singles: Still the Same, Hollywood Nights, We’ve Got Tonight and Old Time Rock and Roll and featured appearances from several guest artists. Seger’s acquaintance with the Eagles’ Glenn Frey from their days back in Detroit led to Frey’s and Felder’s collaboration on Stranger in Town.
It was also around this time that Seger co-authored the Eagles’ number one hit Heartache Tonight which appeared on their album The Long Run. Today, Don often enjoys performing Old Time Rock and Roll in his solo set list.
